House rabbits are equipped with the same skills that utilize their extraordinary senses of hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, and seeing as their wild ancestors. They are hard wired to survive by using those capacities for evading capture from predators, construct underground warrens, search out food and water sources, and maintain optimal physical abilities. Rabbits who live indoors and have all of their needs met, don't necessarily have to look for safe places to hide, dig burrows to live in, and forage for edibles but they still need to actively involve those same abilities in everyday living. For the benefit of their physical and mental wellbeing, they should be provided items that closely resemble nature. I design and fashion activity mats, both hangable and on-floor, sensory puzzles, dig boxes, and other items designed to occupy them whilst preventing boredom, slowing down pellet and nugget consumption, and bringing overall enrichment to their lives. They can engage athleticism while searching for hidden nibbles in uniquely textured mats designed for bun-struction, they use muscle groups, strengthen core, and stretch to maintain flexibility.
As a Bunny Bonder and Wellness Coach, I often use joint activities during bonding that pull focus away from individuals to the sensory-based activity. I also encourage confidence building by overcoming challenges presented by these products. Each one is crafted by hand using carefully curated and garden cultivated components.
