Bunny and Cat caregivers often contact me for help bonding with their fur babies. While each animal is unique with their own personalities, opinion, and preferences, they all share one common thread with humans: the need for physical affection. All species depend on love for survival and quality existence. Some bunnies and cats act aloof as if they do not want to interact with humans. However, once positive touch interactions take place, chemocommunication from the brain starts to associate those metabolic stimuli with pleasure, resulting in a phenomenon I call 'Touch Cravings.' Animals depend on empirical evidence when forming positive associations. In other words, if each time you stroke them, they predict through neurotransmission positive outcomes of the nervous system, they begin to associate human touch with pleasure. To imprint positively, you must change the way your animals view you. Once they view you positively, they will alter the way they behave around you. This circle of imprinting forms indelible impressions whereby their minds are reprogrammed with pleasure-based empirical knowledge. Start approaching them with an air of certainty that they will respond favorably to your desire for closeness and mutual exchanges of affection. Being mindful of their preferences with touch zones will go a long way in changing the way they view you.

AuthorAn avid animal lover, I became invested in improving their lives. Bonding mixed species together as well as same species is a mission so house animals can live happily together. I have successfully bonded many bunnies that had been red flagged as unbondable, bullies, or fiercely independent. Archives
