Some bonds are not straightforward with two able-bodied, similar aged, similar sized, and same breed pairings. Bunnies who are disabled (missing one or both eyes, without incisors, missing an ear or fully deaf, paralyzed, arthritic or other restricted movement abilities, etc.) can be bonded to able bodied bunnies. Young desexed bunnies can be bonded with senior ones. In these cases, careful consideration must be made to the activity levels of both so that the friendship is mutually fair. Often, after age five, bunnies slow down their physical escapades whereas young bunny's bodies require high energy releases through actively moving during waking hours. In limited ability-to-full ability bunny pairings, the bunny with partial abilities usually depends on and leans into the full ability one. This strengthens their bond. As long as both bunnies are desexed, pairings of different genders, ages, breeds, and abilities can be successful. The best bonds are the ones that are mutually beneficial.

AuthorAn avid animal lover, I became invested in improving their lives. Bonding mixed species together as well as same species is a mission so house animals can live happily together. I have successfully bonded many bunnies that had been red flagged as unbondable, bullies, or fiercely independent. Archives
